Biography
Tanya Johnson, originally from New Orleans, holds dual master’s degrees in arts and public affairs from the IU Center on Philanthropy in Indianapolis. She is also a proud alumnus of historically Black Xavier University of Louisiana where she earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology. With more than 20 years of experience in public health, community and faith-based organizations, juvenile justice, and education, Johnson is a seasoned nonprofit leader. Outside of her professional endeavors, Tanya is active in her church, Mt. Carmel Church, in Indianapolis, where she has served in various ministry roles and volunteers with the Mt. Carmel Community Development Corporation.
